On 25 June 2015, Mansfield J held that the Boonthamurra people have native title rights and interests in the determination area. The native title holders have non-exclusive rights to their land.
The Birriah Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC holds native title in trust for the native title holders.
The Birriah People first lodged a native title determination application on 2 April 1998. Following various amendments of their application, on February 2015, the proceeding was divided into parts: Birriah Part A and Birriah Part B.
On 23 March 2016, Logan J made a positive native title determination in relation to the Birriah Part A. On 29 November 2016, Reeves J made a positive native title determination in relation to Birriah Part B.
The Bigambal Native Title Aboriginal Corporation holds native title in trust for the benefit of the native title holders.
The Bigambal Native Title Aboriginal Corporation is governed by a Board of Directors. The corporation has put target strategies in place aimed as responding to identified risks and challenges. These are supported through effective leadership and oversight from their Executive Director, in conjunction with good governance from the Board.
The Barengi Gadjin Land Council Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC (BGLCAC) administers land on behalf of the Wotjobaluk, Jaadwa, Jadawadjali, Wergaia and Jupagulk people of the Wimmera in Western Victoria. Their ownership was recognised by the Wotjobaluk, Jaadwa, Jadawadjali, Wergaia and Jupagulk Peoples No. 1 determination of March 2005.
This determination arose from three separate native title claims made between 1995 and 1999. These different claims were negotiated and settled between all 400 hundred parties. All parties agreed to recognise native title by:
The Bardi and Jawi Niimidiman Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC hold native title in trust for the benefit of the Bardi and Jawi people.
On 13 August 2010, the Federal Court of Australia recognised the Bardi and Jawi people’s native title rights and interests. The Bardi and Jawi people have both exclusive and non-exclusive rights in different areas of the determination area.
The Bar-Barrum Aboriginal Corporation act as an agent for the native title rights and interests of the Bar-Barrum people.
On 28 June 2001, the Federal Court of Australia recognised the Bar-Barrum people’s native title rights and interests. The determination area comprises land and inland waters within the areas of the Herberton and Mareeba Shire Councils on the Atherton Tableland in Far North Queensland. The area includes 25 unallocated state land tenure and two reserves.
The Barda Bana people have native title over their traditional lands, which covers approximately 3229 square kilometres and are bound between the Connors Range in east, Middlemount in the south, Peak Ranges in the West and Lake Elphingstone in the North.
Established in 2013, the Banjima Native Title Aboriginal Corporation was created to address the needs of the Banjima people. The corporation delivers programs and services aimed to providing Banjima people with resources to live prosperous and self-determined lives.
On 12 March 2014, the Court recognised the native title rights and interests of the Banjima people in relation to the determination area. The Banjima Native Title Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC hold native title in trust for the native title holders.
