Kevin Mason, a 74-year-old great-grandfather, was arrested after he was seen taking abalone. Mr Mason's fight is at the heart of a long-running dispute over Aboriginal people's right to hunt and gather in their waters. Fisheries officers say the government needs to manage the stocks on behalf of the "whole community".
