This section of Learn + contains an overview of the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth) (NTA) and the rights and interests that the NTA grants Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island Peoples. It also provides an overview of the Corporations (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Act 2006 (CATSI Act) and the role that the Office of the Registrar of Indigenous Corporations (ORIC) plays in administering the CATSIS Act. This section also outlines the process of a native title claimant application and the regulations of Prescribed Body Corporates (PBCs) which are established under the NTA to manage native title interests.
