Choorechillum is the Prescribed Body Corporate which represents the Ngadjon people and traditional custodians of the land. They are committed to maintaining traditional and contemporary use of the land whilst adhering to the cultural heritage of the Ndagjon people. The corporation primary deals with cultural areas in different Aboriginal communities. 

On 12 December 2007, Spender J made a positive native title determination in relation to the determination area. The determination area is comprised of approximately 13,287 hectares of land and waters within various reserves, environmental parks and national parks around Atherton, Mareeba and Cairns in Far North Queensland.

The determination recognised the native title holders exclusive and non-exclusive rights to use and enjoyment of the determination area.

Native title recognised south of Cairns

Eight years of negotiations have finally paid off for a north Queensland indigenous group with the recognition of their native title rights over an area south of Cairns.

Malanda Court decision recognises Ngadjon-jii people's rights

A Federal Court determination giving the Ngadjon-Jii (pronounced Nud-jon-jee) people native title rights over 13,287 hectares of their traditional lands today was welcomed today by the Minister for Natural Resources and Water, Craig Wallace.
