The Mamu Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC administers land on behalf of the Mamu people. Their native title rights and interests were first recognised in the Mamu People native title determinations of 2013.

This matter recognises the Mamu people’s exclusive native title rights to possession, occupation, use and enjoyment for personal, domestic and non-commercial communal purposes of about 7546 hectares and the non-exclusive native title rights over about 64,000 hectares, comprising traditional lands stretching from Cooper Point in the north to North Maria Creek in the south, in North Queensland. The Court found that the Mamu native title claim area accords with Tindale’s (1974) map of that country.

Other interests in the determination area were recognised as being held by Telstra. Also the Cairns Regional Council, the Cassowary Coast Regional Council, the Tablelands Regional Council, Ergon Energy and the State of Queensland were recognised as holding interests in the determination area both in their own right and under indigenous land use agreements on behalf of the Mamu People.
