Overview

The Ngururrpa people of Western Australia's central desert region had their native title rights recognised less than 12 months after first lodging their claim over about 29,719 sq km of land in the Great Sandy Desert. The determination recognises that the Ngururrpa people have the exclusive native title rights to possess, occupy, use and enjoy certain areas of land and non-exclusive rights to take water for limited personal and non commercial purposes.
