The Wardingarri Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC holds land in trust for the Iman People of South Queensland. Their native title rights and interests were recognised in Doyle on behalf of the Iman People #2 v State of Queensland [2016] FCA 743 on the 23 June 2016.
This matter recognised the Iman people as having exclusive native title rights and interests to approximately 475 hectares, and non-exclusive native title rights and interests to approximately 498,329 hectares of land and waters land in and around Banana Shire region. The determination was the result of one of three native title application lodged with the National Native Title Tribunal 19 years ago on behalf of the Iman People.
