Thaa-Nguigaar Strathgordon Aboriginal Corporation
The Thaa-Nguigaar Strathgordon Aboriginal Corporation administers land on behalf of the Strathgordon Mob. Their ownership over the land was recognised in the Strathgordon Claim determination of 2007.
This determination arose from a claim for native title made on behalf of the Bakanh, Wik, Iyeny and Olkol/Olkola language groups in May 2003. This claim was negotiated over four years. All parties agreed to recognise the claimant’s native title rights to:
- exclusive possession, occupation and use of land, and
- non-exclusive possession, occupation and use of water.
